Kamran Zakir

Chief Empathy Officer | UX, UI, Product & CX Designer

About Me

I am a UX and CX Design specialist with over 15 years of experience designing user-centred, accessible, and inclusive digital products. My work spans government, healthcare, finance, utilities, and enterprise platforms. I’m passionate about improving lives through practical, thoughtful design and leading teams that bring strategy, creativity, and empathy together.

What I Do

I work at the intersection of UX, CX, service design, and accessibility. Whether I’m mapping end-to-end journeys, redesigning enterprise systems, or improving accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1+), my goal is to deliver solutions that serve real users — and meet business goals. I’ve led impactful design initiatives for organisations such as Major Road Projects Victoria, SERV, Connective, and the Victorian Electoral Commission.

How I Work

I’m a strong believer in design that’s grounded in research and guided by collaboration. I bring cross-functional teams together, embed design systems, advocate for user needs, and support Agile ways of working. As a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), I speak both design and product fluently — helping teams stay aligned and outcome-focused.

Life Outside Design

When I’m not designing, you’ll find me testing out new technologies, cooking up something creative, exploring the outdoors, or traveling with my family. I love spending time with my kids and believe in a balanced life that fuels curiosity, resilience, and growth — both personally and professionally.
